FAQ

Privacy and your data

Where is my data stored?

On your iPhone. HomeAlmanac keeps your records in the app’s own storage on your device, which is included in your normal encrypted iPhone backup. Nothing is sent to a HomeAlmanac server, because there is no HomeAlmanac server holding your data.

Do you track me or use analytics?

No. There is no advertising, no third-party analytics profile, and no tracking across apps or websites. The app does not need to know who you are to do its job.

What does the optional iCloud sync share?

When you turn on sync with Premium, your records move between your own devices through your personal iCloud account. They pass through Apple, not through us, and stay private to you.

Can you read my documents?

No. Your documents never reach us. Scanning and search both run on your device using Apple frameworks, so the text inside your files stays on your phone.

Getting started

How long does setup take?

A few minutes. You answer a short set of questions about your home and HomeAlmanac builds a starter maintenance plan you can adjust right away.

Do I have to enter everything by hand?

No. You can scan an appliance nameplate to capture its model and serial number, and photograph manuals and receipts instead of typing them out.

Is there really no account?

Correct. There is no sign-up, email, or password. The app is ready the moment you open it.

Features

How do recall alerts work?

HomeAlmanac compares your saved appliances against a list of published safety recalls. The matching happens on your device, so you get an alert about your own equipment without sharing your inventory with anyone.

Can I export my records?

Yes. You can generate a clean PDF maintenance report or export a full archive of your data at any time, so your records are portable and never locked in.

Does it handle more than one property?

Yes, with the Pro plan. Each home gets its own maintenance plan, documents, and history.

Devices and requirements

Which devices are supported?

iPhone is the home base, with an iPad layout, an Apple Watch app, home screen widgets, and Siri shortcuts. HomeAlmanac requires iOS 17 or later.

Is there an Android or web version?

Not today. HomeAlmanac is built natively for Apple devices so it can keep your data on-device and private. An Android version is not currently planned.

Pricing and subscriptions

How much does it cost?

The app is free for one home. Premium is $39.99 a year or $5.99 a month. Lifetime is a one-time $99.99. Pro Multi-Home is $79.99 a year.

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and you can cancel in a couple of taps.
